We visited the Spirit of the Old West at the Blackhawk Museum in Danville recently and I must say that we would have been quite happy to spend several hours at this very fascinating and educational exhibit where we learned so much. The presentation offers a rather balanced narrative of Native Americans and the American settlers i.e. Sitting Bull and General Custer for examples. We saw stuffed wild animals from prairie dogs to bison and moose and we thoroughly enjoyed this historical and imaginative visit with its diverse array of offerings.
